Can you explain what you do as an SAP Senior Delivery Consultant LCS?
At Insight, I ensure our customers are getting the most out of their SAP Software investments. By re-seeding investments for current and future IT roadmaps, I optimise their SAP Software license environment. I provide deep analyses, workshops and license advise to customers with the goal to have visibility on the risks and to gain the most optimal licensing solutions.
In my current role I work on topics like migration to S/4 HANA, Digital Transformation, Digital Access, M&A, On Premise to Cloud conversions which all have a broad impact on customer’s IT, Finance, Legal and Procurement organization.
What is the best part of your job?
The variety within the job makes every day interesting. I get to work with so many different sizes and types of organisations, from public organisations to manufacturing companies. One day I’m working on analysing the usage of customer’s SAP Systems, the next day I’m involved in a workshop with customers to work out a negotiation strategy. The most energy and hunger I get is from identifying possible savings for customers and giving them the knowledge of how to realize this.
What does Insight allow you to do that wasn’t in your job description?
The organisation really allows you to look beyond the boundaries of the job description. Besides the variety of my job, I’m able to share my ideas on improving processes to even better support our customers. Also, I’m able to gain knowledge of tools that support us in our daily work, to be involved in the creating the service delivery materials, marketing activities from writing a whitepaper to present on customer events. This diversity of work makes me feel good because I get to challenge myself and learn new things.
How has the organisation changed in your tenure?
Over the last few years, Insight has instilled valuable changes within the organisation, which have supported me in getting the best out of myself. Mainly by assembling the right leadership team, process improvements and having the right tools in place. However, maybe most importantly, Insight shows a very big heart. Insight shows empathy for our well-being and a desire to build on people strengths. Visible more than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe that working from Insight’s core values will lead to more motivated and engaged employees and to happy customers.
What does success in your job at Insight look like to you?
As a Senior Delivery Consultant, the most important goal I have is to have ‘happy customers’. Good communication and proper planning at the start and during the project is key to avoid unnecessary surprises at the end of the project.
Besides my work in projects, I see personal development also as a success. Insight is supporting me with this to gain knowledge in many areas. For example, if I need to have more information on visualisation tools to better present the outcome of analysis to customers or in case I want more information related to a new product of SAP or if I’m in need for a more personal training like how to organize my time or to achieve my further development targets. This personal success is for me also very important.
What are the top reasons someone should join Insight?
Every action within Insight is driven by Insight’s core values; Hunger, Heart & Harmony and you can see that everywhere within the organisation. For me, the most important reasons why I like working at Insight are:
- The ability to define your own agenda and activities; flexibility to working on site, remote or at a customer’s site.
- The many ways to spotlight and recognise each other. We have Value Awards, where a tree is planted in your name through our partnership with Tree-Nation and 'Recognize', an application to easily to recognise all the great things being done at Insight by my teammates across EMEA.
- The ability to share your own ideas and get involved.
- Great teammates; the License Consulting Team is extraordinary team, with a great knowledge base and team spirit.
- Most importantly; doing meaningful work to support organisations to get the most value out of their IT spend, so they can invest more in new innovations to make the world a better place.
