Insight Announces its Involvement in the Microsoft Devices Program.
London, England – 16th August 2013 – Insight Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq:NSIT), a leading worldwide technology provider of hardware, software and service solutions, today announced its European operating division's participation in the Microsoft Devices Program, empowering the organisation to resell Surface Pro and Surface RT to commercial customers. The goal of the Microsoft Devices Program is to serve customers by activating Microsoft's channel of partners to resell its devices to organisations of all sizes, from the classroom to the boardroom.
"There's a tremendous market opportunity for tablets in today's business environment," said Insight President and CEO Ken Lamneck. "In particular we are already seeing a big need in the education sector and for businesses with a choose your own device (CYOD) strategy. Adding the Microsoft Surface line into our portfolio of products, gives our clients a great opportunity to provide their employees or students with portable, touch tablet style devices that also provide the full power of the Microsoft business productivity solutions. We're excited to participate in the Microsoft Devices Program because it further demonstrates our commitment to serving the needs of clients relying on Microsoft devices and services."
The Microsoft Partner Network is designed to equip organisations that deliver products and services through the Microsoft platform with the training, resources and support they need to provide their customers superior experience and outcomes. Launching now in Europe, the Microsoft Devices Program creates a two-tier distribution model with authorised partners to enable commercial customers to purchase Surface Pro and Surface RT.
Added Justin Griffiths, EMEA VP of Partner Management, Insight: “Microsoft’s decision to give Insight the nod as one of its first device resellers for Surface represents a natural progression in the sales cycle and one that now allows us to begin to talk to clients about where the device may fit into their strategy going forward.
"With our geographic reach and experience of delivering tablet solutions to businesses of every size, Insight is well placed to help Microsoft grow market share for Surface. Our knowledge of the IT space and position as a trusted impartial advisor to the private sector, government and educational institutions means we will be able to assist our customers on choosing solutions that offer them real tangible benefits."
